In 1977 I was invited by a neighbour
to come and drink a glass of Irish whiskey. Wow, I liked it very much.
Of course, my taste was positively influenced by a night of "good
crack". After that, I haven't had a single glass of whiskey untill I became friends with a pubowner, who wanted to present "real" whisky to his costumers. Not the standerd Glenfiddich and Johnny Walker. That's how I met Han van Wees in his "sacred tastingroom", where I tasted quit a lot single malts. The selection for the pub was made and I was lost......! Since that day, the Ardbeg 1974 (CC, white map label) was my "housewhisky". (I wasn't aware...) That's how, over the years, I met the real connoisseurs and learned a lot about the "water of life". Now I have a real passion and a couple of good friends. Finally, I travelled to Scotland itself and visited quit
some distilleries. Not only for tasting but also and especially to paint.
