| The
Hanyu distillery was founded in Hanyu, fourty miles from Tokyo. From 1946
they were allowed to make whisky, but 54 years later the distillery was
closed. Unfortunately the warehouses were also emptied, just after the
company was sold in 2004. Whiskylover Jeroen Koetsier learned about Hanyu
on a tasting in Craigellachie, Scotland in 2005. A couple of years ago
one could hardly imagine a Japanese malt was one of the best on a tasting,
but this was exactly what happened that night. Koetsier got a couple of
bottles of cask 9204, of which a total of only 400 were bottled. That's
why he wants to share this 'Hanyu-experience’ with other whiskylovers,
who can order the malt for 119 euro. For more information or order, please email: drams@fullproof.eu. |
